People often hear the terms hypnosis and Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and can be confused about what they both mean and more importantly the differences that there are between them.

Perhaps it is best to state here that NLP is disguised hypnosis. In NLP you are still in a trance once you start your imagination and it is understood that things are more likely to stick once you are in a submanbolism (deep trance).Hypnosis is different in that it allows you to achieve a clean detox quickly.This is much harder in NLP. Put in its simplest form hypnosis allows you to make changes directly to your sub-concious (many people relate this to making changes to your hard drive in computing terms).

NLP, on the other hand, has no formal induction. It doesn’t use the same tools and techniques as hypnosis, because both your conscious mind and unconscious mind are involved.

Hypnosis is a specific set of tools and techniques to help you enter into a trance-like state (in layman’s terms, your conscious mind goes to sleep).
